 MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION OF NASSAU COUNTY

 

Services available for Behavioral Health Professionals

 

·        Workshops, institutes, symposiums and conferences for behavioral health professionals that provide Continuing Educational Units (CEUs) for Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors (CRC) under auspices of Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification and Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Certification (CASAC) under auspices of NY State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services

·        MHA is an authorized NY State training site for training in Identification and Reporting of Child Abuse and Maltreatment under auspices of the University of the State of New York State Education Department, available to all licensed professionals in NY State

·        Continuing Education Units for Social Workers under auspices of NY State Chapter N.A.S.W.

 

Services Available to the Nassau County Community

 

·        Program planning assistance and consultation services for organizations arranging an event that addresses mental illnesses or mental health related topics

·        Media Resource Center-comprised of books, videotapes, DVDs, audio-tapes, pamphlets, articles and research material, available free and on loan, covering topics that include: mental illnesses, children, families, mental health issues, addictions

·        The Players-an improvisational interactive theater group that performs vignettes addressing every day life issues that include: family dynamics, children, peer pressure and bullying, addictions, mental illnesses. We request donation of $50 for The Players
