f you are receiving food stamps and you have lost food that you purchased with your food stamp benefits, you can have the monetary value of that food replaced.  New York State has made replacement food stamp benefits available for food stamp recipients who lost food during Hurricane Irene (due to flooding, power loss, etc.). The Office of Council Member Letitia James would like to inform you that in order to receive replacement benefits, your food loss must be reported within 10 days.
