| The Mental Health Association of Nassau County gratefully acknowledges the Long Island Fund for Women & Girls for awarding us $5,000 toward teen girls outreach.
With depression seven times more prevalent among girls than boys, young women are at greater risk for suicide attempts and other negative outcomes. Girls are also three times more likely than boys to have a negative body image, often reflected in eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia.
