About the Veterans Health
Alliance of Long Island
DID YOU KNOW? Long Island is home to over
138,000 veterans, and that we have the second largest
veteran population in the U.S.?
The mission of the Veterans Health Alliance of Long Island is to: Promote the health and well-being of Long Island veterans and their families through advocacy, and a broad array of services.
The Veterans Health Alliance of Long Island, a project of the Mental Health Association of Nassau County, is a collaborative effort of veterans and family members, the VA Medical Center in Northport, County Veteran Service Agencies, VET Centers, state and local mental health, local universities, non-profit agencies and elected officials..
The Alliance outreaches veterans to inform them of the availability of benefits and services, provides training for veterans, family members, and social service providers, conducts advocacy with elected officials regarding the need for veteran services, and provides direct services and peer support to veterans and their families.
